Steve McCurry, a celebrated photographer for more than five decades,
began his career after studying cinematography at Pennsylvania State
University. His journey started with a life-changing trip to India,
armed with just a camera and minimal possessions. In Pakistan, he risked
his life to document the Russian invasion, exposing its brutality to
the world. McCurry's captivating portfolio spans the globe, capturing
disappearing cultures, traditions, and contemporary life, while always
preserving the human essence. His numerous awards include the Robert
Capa Gold Medal and the Centenary Medal from the Royal Photographic
Society for a lifetime of remarkable achievements. In 2019, he was
inducted into the International Photography Hall of Fame.
