Mylo Freeman, of Dutch-American descent, grew up in The Hague. She began
her artistic journey at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, where she
graduated with a degree in illustration. After a brief singing career
and the birth of her eldest son, she returned to her passion for
illustration. Her first debut picture book, "Potje!" immediately
received the prestigious Kiekenboek Prize, marking the beginning of her
successful career with about 70 picture books, including the beloved
Princess Arabella series. A constant theme throughout her versatile
career is her love for fashion and haute couture, reflected in her
exquisite watercolor paintings. Mylo Freeman beautifully combines
children's literature with fashion-inspired art, celebrating
imagination, beauty, and diversity in her enchanting creations.
